Rylie and Joe’s love story began at the gym– seeing each other for the first time, sparks instantly flew and they found themselves attracted to each other physically. Then, a few days later, as fate would allow it, they matched on just about every dating app. They immediately messaged each other, and amazed at how small the world was, they decided to meet up and had their first date on November 12th, 2019 where Rylie took the courage to initiate their first kiss, saying it felt so right.
They built their relationship on friendship first and foremost. Rylie’s last relationship had traumatized her as she was emotionally abused and was left broken. But, since Joe was so patient while dating her, never rushing her in any way, Rylie was able to open up and let her walls down completely. That is what Rylie cherishes about their love story– Joe is her best friend. So, after 3 years of sharing the good and the bad and doing all sorts of adventures together, Joe finally decided to ask the question of a lifetime.
He originally planned on popping the question, when he was out on a business trip in Texas, and Rylie was visiting him. He took her under the fireworks on the 4th of July. However, while they were at the firework show, the mountain caught on fire, so he decided to wait for another chance to propose.
That was why, the next time Rylie came out to Texas a few weeks later- the night before she left to head back to Salt Lake City, Joe took her out to dinner, took her to the top of the parking garage, pretending he wanted to take a picture with the skyline behind them and got down on one knee. Rylie immediately said yes, went back to the car with him, turned the music up loud, opened the car doors, and slow-danced in the headlights of the car in the parking garage. Rylie says “it was not a grand show or any pre-planned thing- just very authentic and a sweet moment I’ll cherish forever.”

The couple chose Copper Nickel Events for its beauty. They love the warm, low lighting, greenery, and brick wall which went with their rustic theme. They then came to love it more, stating they admire how coordinating and helpful the Executive Director was, and how she made the process smooth, worry-free, and wonderful.
Rylie didn’t want her wedding to be another run-of-the-mill typical wedding, she wanted it to be unique and something she would remember forever. So she incorporated her Greek heritage by adding Jordan almonds to each dinner table for the guests to take home with their meaning in the Greek culture. She also made a little dog treat table to honor her dog which she considers her child. The guests could freely take a dog treat bag home to their dogs as a favor from her. It was the perfect event for the sweetest bride.
They went to Oahu, Hawaii for their honeymoon and plan the future to enjoy spending time with their dog, travel, work towards goals, and eventually start a family!
